I am a small town Oklahoma girl who grew up checking groceries for her dad. Not born particularly beautiful or tragic…just an ordinary girl trying to grow up. Nothing romantic in this story but hopefully you will find an abundance of heart. I am inspired by many things; thus making it hard for me to focus! I adore a dinner of friends and family. I read recipe books like they are novels. I make quests out of perfecting a recipe. I take in my surroundings and strive for a lovely, welcoming home. I adore Jesus and I find meaning and purpose, wisdom and relevance in the Bible.

My heart is my four children, three in-law kids and my eight grandkids. My husband, Rod is my Boaz and the foundation of our family. I love him dearly. I, like everyone who ever walked this earth, have experienced great heartache and many failures. I have learned some things along the way. I know we probably have this in common. I want to learn about others and their journeys so that we can encourage one another.

I believe that no matter what we look like on the outside; there is a beauty that rests in the soul of us all. There is beauty all around us…from a perfectly baked dinner roll. a brilliant pot of hydrangeas, a grandchild covered in mud or sitting with a broken-hearted friend. I embrace it all. This is life and I am just another Not So Plain Girl wanting to walk with you as we journey together. I love people…always have. I love you and I don’t even know you.
